Mr. Romney once again has shown his true colors by saying that Presidennt Obama offered "gifts" to minorities in order to win the election:

In a conference call on Wednesday afternoon with his national finance committee, Mr. Romney said that the president had followed the “old playbook” of wooing specific interest groups — “especially the African-American community, the Hispanic community and young people,” Mr. Romney explained — with targeted gifts and initiatives.

“In each case they were very generous in what they gave to those groups,” Mr. Romney said.

Mr. Romney once again shows distain for the American people by his distasteful comments:
“You can imagine for somebody making $25,000 or $30,000 or $35,000 a year, being told you’re now going to get free health care, particularly if you don’t have it, getting free health care worth, what, $10,000 per family, in perpetuity, I mean, this is huge,” he said. “Likewise with Hispanic voters, free health care was a big plus. But in addition with regards to Hispanic voters, the amnesty for children of illegals, the so-called Dream Act kids, was a huge plus for that voting group.”
Yes, all we want are "things". Mr. Romney's recent comments once again shows that he just doesn't get it.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

  •  I just read that (6+ / 0-)

    over at the Caucus Blog

Unbelievable statements, either totally untrue or so twisted as to be recognizable.

Free health care for students, free contraceptives for young women,  family policies worth $10,000, simply not true.   Everyone pays for the insurance, if the policy has drug coverage, contraceptives have to be covered. Hardly free.

Forgiving interest on student loans from lowering interest by taking the banks out of the picture, or public service jobs for partial forgiveness of loans.  Quid pro quo.

Mostly young people aren't haters by and large and are therefore not inclined to vote for Republicans but will vote for Democrats who support equal rights, equal access to education and good jobs.

If he said that he's as much of a scumbag as the 47% tape would suggest, twice over.

If Republicans lost the election because they didn't offer enough of value to enough voters, there's an obvious lesson there. Any small businessperson can tell you what it is.

    the New York Times reports.

Said Romney: "In each case they were very generous in what they gave to those groups. With regards to the young people, for instance, a forgiveness of college loan interest, was a big gift. Free contraceptives were very big with young college-aged women. And then, finally, Obamacare also made a difference for them, because as you know, anybody now 26 years of age and younger was now going to be part of their parents' plan, and that was a big gift to young people. They turned out in large numbers, a larger share in this election even than in 2008."

So people making $25,000 want health care and that's a "thing." That's "stuff."  For which they are not entitled.

But half a dozen homes, Cadillacs, planes, expensive clothes, jewelry, bonuses for fleecing the country, hell, no doubt whole towns and islands -- this is not enough stuff for the richest in our country?

Do these poor specimens of humanity think about anything except getting more money than they can use in perpetuity?

You know for a while I thought that Romney with all his apparent disassociation from himself might be emotionally ill and in that I had a drop of compassion for him.  That's gone.
