Angie's List is no longer advertising on the Rush Limbaugh Show. This is a statement of fact.

Angie's List waited until their contract expired in early November, and then opted not to immediately renew their contract. This is also a statement of fact.

Rush Limbaugh is losing advertisers,
and
destroying radio networks (see below)

Flush Rush used to announce each major company that dropped Rush as a win. But one company honorable enough to make a public announcement that they were leaving Limbaugh's program "as soon as possible" generated a nasty backlash by Rush Limbaugh supporters.

One week prior to Angie's List making the determination not to immediately renew their contract with Rush Limbaugh, the company was met with a scathing analysis about their inability to retain members.

Angie's List continues to try to recruit as many members as they can, yet the more members they recruit, the more they lose. That just isn't a business plan...

Conclusion: ANGI is a train wreck in progress

Angie's List Financials Show A Train Wreck In Progress, October 26, 2012

We do not know if there was any relationship between this report, and the decision made by Angie's List.

We also do not know what the future holds for Angie's List. We are happy that we no longer need to advise our supporters to drop their Angie's List memberships. Because we do not know Angie's List's future plans, we are not announcing this as a win.

In other news today, a major radio industry network voluntarily delisted from NASDAQ, reported dire financial difficulties, and blamed its troubles, in part, on advertisers boycotting Rush Limbaugh.
Downward spiral.

Rush Limbaugh's talk radio career is in a slow downward spiral in part because of the activism of consumers, volunteers, and activists who seek to hold Rush accountable for his hate speech. One very active group in this cause is Flush Rush on Facebook. Flush Rush and other, similar groups use the StopRush Database to inform advertisers about where their ads are appearing.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

You can add a private note to this diary when hotlisting it:

Anniversary, I'll submit a conspiracy theory.

It took some time but now Limbaugh's mouth farts are starting to really cost the republican party with huge swaths of voting blocks. Voting blocks that are growing. And authorities in the party are terrified to confront him.

Limbaugh could have been a liberal plant many moons ago, devised by people with fantastic foresight.

      He's a liberal.

himself the defacto head of the party. And all of them got into their own stash to the point they believed their own bullshit and believed that everyone thought the same way. Bitch slap of reality. sweet.

I seriously have nothing but scorn for them.  I think they're tanking because their product isn't anywhere near what they claim.  their "seal of approval" means virtually nothing to many people who've had crappy experiences with them.

Not for $19.95 a year membership fee, automatically renewed.  For what little I would ever use the 'service' that's way too much money.   I would consider using Angie's List if they offered an ala carte twenty-five-cents-per-inquiry with no annual fee.   But greed would probably prevent them from being sensible.

Angie's List. Remember when there was talk that one could only get on the list if you paid and she did a commercial to say no. I believe that she was charging. There are alternatives to Angie's. She contributed to Romney pretty significantly I read. So for me. No to Angie's.

here in Pittsburgh and have many reviews on Angie's List. We have to maintain a membership to monitor our reviews.

We used to "advertise" (basically pay to be at the top of the list - it doesn't get you good ratings, just good page placement).

When we stopped "advertising" and they finally called to find out why, I told them...Rush Limbaugh.  The guy I was talking to said "that's above my pay grade."  I said "well, you are the only one who is talking to me, so you might want to let others know."

that Angie's List is through with Rush. Yet they've apparently learned the lesson from Arby's getting slammed after an announcement. We have had a few companies act this way since Arby's.

One of Rush's staunches advertisers four months ago was Grasshopper Mowers. They stopped advertising. They did not announce. We don't know whether they'll advertise again (they are, after all, somewhat of a seasonal business.) StopRush makes them inactive in the database -- still there, but not visible as an advertiser.

And there are other companies in the same inactive category that just silently dropped that i would not regard as seasonal.

Angie's List has offered private assurances to some of their business partners that concerns about Rush Limbaugh will no longer be an issue going forward. Yet there is always that caveat -- they observe that they didn't publicly announce start of advertising, they didn't publicly announce end of advertising, they are re-assessing. So what are those assurances worth? I don't know.

I would say we cannot, and do not consider Angie's List a win. But they are inactive, and we must be satisfied with that -- for now.

So i announce this here, as a courtesy to the Daily Kos community. I blogged previously that Angie's List was a bad actor; now i have to attempt to convey their new status, as uncertain as that may be. I'd like to promote an announcement as a win to gain momentum for our cause. But i cannot, because there is nothing definitive.

I worked for a fortune 100 corporation for 33 years. I know how many consultants they hire. Someone has advised Angie's List how to climb down, without incurring an Arby's style backlash, i expect. But of course this is just speculation.

Final note: as the inactives increase, the Rush Limbaugh program becomes less and less attractive to the networks that carry him, particularly because it is so expensive (to pay Limbaugh's $400,000,000 contract). Sooner or later, i believe, that will make a significant difference.
