Of course they aren't going to say it. They still need a bargaining chip. But they know it. Deep down. They know all the cards are with Obama. Take a look at Obama's favorability rating by a USA Today/ Gallup polldone yesterday. Obama has a 58% favorability rating. This rating is the "highest in three years" since mid-2009 when he was still enjoying his honeymoon.
His approval rating since the election shows a +10 spread in Gallup (52/42) and +7 in Rasmussen (53/46).
Now, you might not think these numbers are a big deal, frankly it's expected right after an election. But think about what this means. Even after all the shrill screaming from the right, calling him a socialist, nazi, kenyan born muslim, he is still popular. After they threw everything they had at him, he is still popular. They yelled themselves hoarse and he is still popular. That means that they lost the American people. They can't convince them about anything. Look if you can't convince Americans about the dangers of a Muslim President, then what can you convince them about? If Americans don't listen to you about that, then what will they listen to?
I saw this coming when I was chilling on Huffingtonpost the other day. There were trolls as usual, and particularly nasty ones. One guy had an avatar of Obama smoking, and was throwing insults about how Obama is a Kenyan Muslim. First I responded politely, that his language isn't appreciated. I do this so that I don't feel guilty about what I was going to do next.
He responded with sneers and laughter, clearly trying to provoke me. Of course, he had never dealt with me, I take great pride in being a troll hunter (I wrote about it in previous diaries if you enjoy such stories). The trick is that online trolls have a lot to lose, even though it doesnt seem like it by their anonymous persona. Think about it: why would anyone waste so much time in hurting others? It is always someone who himself has a lot to fear and a lot to lose.
So I said simply "tell me, how does it feel to be neutered by a kenyan muslim?" That was all it took. I've never seen anyone so deflated after that. He became calmer and tried to tell me his economic reasoning for why the country is lost. I countered with facts, and repeated the question "how much did you cry after the kenyan muslim neutered you?" So, basically, I was trolling HIS ass, while simultaneously educating him.
And that was it. He left. Didn't come back to the thread.
The thing is THEY KNOW IT. It's quite sad actually. They know their leaders are caving. They know there is nothing they can do about it. There is no Schadenfreude anymore for me. I just feel really sorry for them.
Edit: In a way, my troll hunting diaries are also educational observations that you can use in taking down trolls that you see online. message me if you want to talk strategy on this topic.
