First Mitt Romney called 47% of Americans sorry, no account, lazy "takers" who won't take responsibility for their own lives. Then Romney's running mate Paul Ryan said it was only 30%. Then Ryan admitted his heroine was a half ass Russian anti-democratic novelist Ayn Rand, who is a leftover from the days of the czars.
Now Mitt Romney says that President Obama won because he bought off his base with financial gifts!
What????
Where is my payoff? Where is my bribe?
Romney has nothing but disdain for at least half the American people.
You cannot be a patriot if you have nothing but contempt for half the people of your country. You cannot love America if you hate our people.
I really cannot understand how the base of the Republican Party can claim to love America when they cannot or won't accept us and our country. It is like the Republican Party ran the train off the tracks and is still churning into the cliff into 90 miles an hour.
This morning at 8 am I'll be reading some of my poetry on John Case's radio show from Shepherdstown, West Virginia. I think I will read my poem about Romney's 47% and maybe Scott Brown's assault on Elizabeth Warren's native heritage. You can listen by CLICKING HERE.
My book Playing Bigger Than You Are: A Life in Organizing is going great guns. I did about 10 readings, meetings, and interviews last week in the Bay Area. I don't have an up to date number from Amazon Kindle, but I do know ours was the top book in the Amazon labor category. We just had a great week in the Bay Area.
I hope you and your organization or union will consider having me speak at your meeting or convention and talk about how your folks can be more active members and read Playing Bigger Than You Are: A Life in Organizing. Finally, as we discussed last week, we cannot wait to start our critical work of fighting for our members and workers who aren't union members. We've had 35 years of stagnant wages creating the huge inequality and an economic crisis that we can't dig out of.
We gotta have fundamental economic and labor reform. Otherwise, we will soon be the biggest underdeveloped country in the world.
