This is video from the most recent citizen forum in Duluth:
The MN Environmental Quality Board has a new report card on energy and the environment (pdf) and has launched a series of Citizen Forums to discuss the report card, take input, and lead up to the MN Environmental Congress.
There are three more of these forums scheduled, and the above video hopefully will help motivate you to attend and make full use of this opportunity to direct Minnesota's leaders in government to create a more sustainable and just future. The remaining forums are:
December 10 – Worthington, Worthington High School [3:30pm – 6:00pm]
December 12 – St. Cloud, Stearns County Service Center [5:30pm – 8:00pm]
December 14 – Moorhead, Minnesota State University [3:00pm – 5:30pm]
For many Minnesotans these locations are long drives - we drove 4+ hours round trip from Bemidji to Duluth to check it out and create this clip, and hope that it will result in a few more people from our area driving similar distances to Moorhead or St. Cloud to put forward good plans to preserve the environment, to end the wolf hunt and preserve the genetic integrity of wild rice from transgenes and genetic engineering as well as sulfide mining.
Aaron Klemz on the blog Left.mn has also written about a forum in Bloomington, MN that he attended: Citizen environmental forum provides a ray of hope
Have you made it to one of these? What are your thoughts?
