Tonight's music is provided by Paul Simon. There was a very important reason why I chose Paul Simon for tonight's diary but I cannot recall what it was right now. Enjoy.
If you are crazy enough to start smoking and continue smoking, your brain is not likely to improve. I know because I smoked for, um, let's see, I started when **'s cousin came to visit and there was this party and that year was.......
So anyway, I smoked cigarettes for too many years.
Here is some bad news for smokers who are concerned about their brains.
In other news:
The Big Tobacco Companies have to admit they have been lying.
What's not to love?
More fun facts:
The use of tobacco products is not only addicting, but is directly related to a number of health problems and diseases. A few of the oral health problems smokers or smokeless tobacco users can develop are —
brown stained teeth
black hairy tongue (my favorite !!)
gum disease and loss of teeth
cancers of the cheek, esophagus, lip, palate and tongue
Tobacco use kills 5.4 million people a year - an average of one person every six seconds - and accounts for one in 10 adult deaths worldwide.
Tobacco kills up to half of all users.
100 million deaths were caused by tobacco in the 20th century. If current trends continue, there will be up to one billion deaths in the 21st century.
Unchecked, tobacco-related deaths will increase to more than eight million a year by 2030, and 80% of those deaths will occur in the developing world.
