I have previously expressed consternation with Hillary running for president in 2016. Especially in a match-up with Jeb Bush. American politics has been debased enough {{sounds of recent election tripe}}, without "Dancing with the Dynastic Czars." Yes, it would be an incredible feast for the punditry that hasn't been dislodged since OJ days, but this country, its citizens, deserve more than another gruelingly predictable blab-fest.

Obama was roundly thwacked by many progressives for not being capital C change. So it is inexplicable to me why anyone would consider a Hillary succession.

Exhibit A is David Remnick's article today in the New Yorker:

Remnick, (who, if you read through the comments on the article, is predictably called " a self-hating Jew) opines thus:

"The film was like an international endorsement four years in advance of the Iowa caucus and the New Hampshire primary. The tone was so reverential that it resembled the sort of film that the Central Committee of the Communist Party might have produced for Leonid Brezhnev’s retirement party if Leonid Brezhnev would only have retired and the Soviets had been in possession of advanced video technology. After it was over there was a separate video from the President. Looking straight into the camera, Obama kvelled at length: “You’ve been at my side at some of the most important moments of my Administration.”

At his side and moving rightward. If you've been disappointed by areas of Obama's centrism, what do you get with Hillary?

Other take from the conference (from CNN reportage):

"In light of today's announcement, let me reiterate that this administration — like previous administrations — has been very clear with Israel that these activities set back the cause of a negotiated peace," Clinton said in remarks delivered at the Saban Center for Middle East Policy in Washington."

Ok, here is the test question: when you think of supporting Hillary Clinton for 2016, do you find yourself rationalizing?

She deserves it for all she's had to suffer/hard worker/intelligent.
Obama owes her for Bill's convention speech.

I'm of the mind that ambition has replaced vision, and I dare you to articulate a Hillary Clinton vision.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
