South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint (R) announced he will leave the Senate at the beginning of January 2013 to become the next president of the Koch Brothers Heritage Foundation Septic Tank.

Heritage is one of the largest conservative Septic Tanks in America.  Another Koch Septic Tank, running a close 2nd to Heritage is the Koch's CATO Inst.

On January 20, 2009, Jim DeMint plotted to sabotage the US Economy with 11 other Republican Congressmen as was outlined in Robert Draper's book, "Do Not Ask What Good We Do: Inside the U.S. House of Representatives"  (Story here)

The January 20, 2009 secrete meeting was a four hour, "invitation only" meeting with GOP Hate-Propaganda Minister, Frank Luntz, the below listed Senior GOP Law Writers literally plotted to sabotage, undermine and destroy America's Economy.

GOP Congressional Members who plotted to sabotage US Economy:
Frank Luntz - GOP Minister of Propaganda
Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)
Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA)
Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA),
Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX),
Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-TX),
Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-MI)
Rep. Dan Lungren (R-CA),
Sen. Jim DeMint (SC-R),
Sen. Jon Kyl (AZ-R),
Sen. Tom Coburn (OK-R),
Sen. John Ensign (NV-R) and
Sen. Bob Corker (TN-R).

Non-lawmakers present Newt Gingrich - Failed GOP candidate for President

As the GOP Congressmen were leaving their January 2012 covert meeting, Newt Gingrich acknowledged their plot was pure politics and they didn't give a damn about the People.
GINGRICH "You will remember this will remember this day the seeds of 2012 were sown."
Since 2009, Jim DeMint has obstructed the People's work from getting as he actively participated destroying the US Economy in hopes that the GOP would win the White House in 2012.

Since 2009, DeMint's voting record is summarized here:

- Filibustered more Bills (over 300) than any Congress combined in US History.
- Voted NO on every single piece of Legislation brought to the Floor including:
NO on Al Franken's Anti-Rape Amendment,
NO on Lilly Ledbetter,
NO on Fair Pay Act,
NO on Anti-Outsourcing Bill (2010)
Looks like Jim DeMint will fit right in with all the other sewage at the Heritage Septic Tank.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

I wonder if he realized that the Tea party is losing their influence over Congress. Maybe DeMint isn't interested in being a senator if he can't automatically block every friggen piece of legislation that comes down with just a threat of filibuster.

It would be good to have all the comments directed to the front page story and maybe one other really informative diary.

One of the most effective and if it's been in use before I somehow missed it until now.

This fact has been known and well-sourced for some time now, as so many other truths that are revealed, and only given slight token attention in the major media outlets if not entirely ignored.

The fact that something so important to understanding the major problems that the media constantly reports and opines about is largely ignored just provides further evidence of the degree to which the growth of the internet and alternative information sources, often from major global outlets, are the only vehicles for information that have saved thus far from theoplutocratic demolition of democracy and domestic security, tenuous as it may still be.

Though we've faced several attempts to control content and accessibility to it through the internet, I'm sure the real battles are yet to come.  The internet is the chief impediment to thought control today and unless it is a war we win, there's no hope for the people to influence the future at all.

  •  Septic tank? That gives me a great idea (0+ / 0-)

for a very appropriate low cost Christmas gift for Mr. DeMint!  Just give me a few minutes ...
