In 1927, the Brookings Institution, one of the country’s oldest think tanks, was founded when three organizations that had been created by philanthropist Robert S. Brookings merged. He could have saved a lot of time by just creating one to begin with!
In 1962, workers at four New York City newspapers (later nine) went on a strike that lasted for 114 days.
