Good Morning Kossacks and Welcome to Morning Open Thread (MOT)

We're known as the MOTley Crew and you can find us here every morning at 6:30am Eastern. Feel free to volunteer to take a day - permanently or just once in awhile. With the Auto Publish feature you can set it and forget it. Sometimes the diarist du jour shows up much later: that's the beauty of Open Thread...it carries on without you! Good Morning All

Helloha from Oregon where the sky is blue and so is the governor and the senators and 4 out of 5 Congressmen (and Women) and both houses and all state offices.
(Cue state song: : Rhapsody in Blue)
(Segue to other state Song: Bluer than Blue)
I know many  of you have heard of the tragic shooting up in Clackamas tuesday night and I want to thank you all for all your emails, cards and gifts that have been pouring in. Your generosity is overwheliming, So wonderful to know America cares, pulls together in time of crisis and knows how to give.
Oregon thanks you for your concern and all 3.5 million of us want you to know we're going to be OK---a tragic loss but Oregon soldiers on, tho all 3.5 million heads be bowed down with sorrow, cares and woe.
Yes, Oregon is going to be all right again, standing shoulder to shoulder facing together the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune. We've been knocked down before but always come back swinging, secure in the knowledge that the clean limbed, strong jawed folks of Oregon can withstand any adversity
From Salem to Nehalem and From Astoria to Peoria!
From Coos Bay to John Day and From Dallas to the Dalles
From Pilot Rock to Cascade Locks and Shady Cove to Cottage Grove
From gaston to Weston to Condon to Bandon to Dayton
From Roseburg to Newburg to Harrisburg to Millersburg
From Brownsville to McMinville to Sodaville and from Summerville to Canyonville to Scotts Mill.
From Junction City to Lincoln City to Bay City to Island City to Dunes City to Oregon City to BAker City
From Portland to  Ashland to Oakland and from From Yoncalla to Molalla and back to Wallowa
From Amity...to Unity....to Sublimity.............
and from Bend ALLLLLL the way to North Bend......
Oregon people are standing tall, striding proudly side by side into the future, solid communities of strong mellow people helping each other---Oregon people--the kind that will poke you in the nose for calling them a so and so and then turn around and help you put your yurt up in a snowstorm. The kind that can save a spotted owl in the morning and a whale in the afternoon. Good solid people, the kind you always want around at a rock concert or  model train show or fireman's pancake breakfast.
Yes, America, don't cry for us!! We're going to be fine!  Oregon will come back strong and proud, square and level, forged anew with one message for America and one message only, one that can be proudly shouted to the rooftops, sung as an anthem, whispered as a lullaby. Say it loud America but say it proud:
"Morning Open thread will begin in 5.....4....3....2...1....NOW!!!!!"

God bless and stay strong!!
Oregon! A great place to grow!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
