Isn't it true that Republican politicians are the zombie pawns of alien right wing zillionaires, manipulating those politicians into (a) getting elected by masterful manipulation of the basest prejudices of the parts of the population most vulnerable to manipulation, and (b) either (i) passing legislation most harmful to the non-zillionaires, or (ii) obstructing anything good from happening, with the goal of destroying our ability to govern ourselves?  I can't decide whether this is Invasion of the Body Snatchers or the Manchurian Candidate; but the level of Zombie, rote, meaningless (other than "dog whistle") rhetoric issuing from the mouths of pretty much every Republican on television is so stultifying, I suppose, now that I think about it, that I haven't seen anything so deadening since Stalinist propaganda.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

  •  Because it is propaganda (0+ / 0-)

    Plain and simple.

It's been a central theme in more than a couple of my diaries, recently.

We have a responsibility to call it out, in real-time.

Somebody has to do something, and it's just incredibly pathetic that it has to be us.

Responding to your query in response to my other diary note:
Thanks for the comment.  I didn't reply previously because (due, I think, to my inexperience in this stuff) I didn't realize your above comment was requesting or inviting or seeking a response.
           In response:
I appreciate the comment and agreement.  I like your quote from Jerry Garcia.  It tells me something about the depth and quality of his thought and consciousness of which I was previously unaware.
For me, expressing in a diary an insight I think could be useful is a first step.  I also do not hesitate to call out evil in my business as a lawyer (probably more than might be prudent).
I'll look at your diaries.  It seems to me that the central question in calling out evil in real-time is to find a way to get it heard.
Kos has done that, which is why I admire him, and appreciate the opportunity he's created to amplify whatever insights I am capable of expressing.
I think it's probably obvious that there is no end to the need and adventure of finding further ways of expanding the dialog to let the truth come to light.
I'm not "satisfied" with one-step-at-a-time, but I accept that it is better than the alternative until I or anybody else comes up with something better.
      MIKE
