I have mentioned in other threads that I would be willing to do the work (and if needed pay the fee) to do a non-profit if someone had an exempt purpose. (Such as providing for victims of gun violence).

It was suggested I diary, so I will briefly.

If someone did or collectively a purpose emerged I would be happy to.

It would probably take me 2 months or so to do the Articles, etc on the state level.

Then maybe the same to do the Application.

I welcome ideas, or if anyone has ability to run/ do website, etc.

One initial was a name like NRA that compensated (thinking WWF v. WWF) as that would be an interesting question to them if what was started was helping victims and they sued.

But I would think there many good reasons for other sorts. I am leaving much of the conversation out there.

Note a firm would charge thousands. And This is one of the things I do (non-profit semi regular), LLC's often though.

So I hope here we can discuss ACTION and it could very well be through a non-profit. As well as Exempt Purposes etc.

he exempt purposes set forth in section 501(c)(3) are charitable, religious, educational, scientific, literary, testing for public safety, fostering national or international amateur sports competition, and preventing cruelty to children or animals.  The term charitable is used in its generally accepted legal sense and includes relief of the poor, the distressed, or the underprivileged; advancement of religion; advancement of education or science; erecting or maintaining public buildings, monuments, or works; lessening the burdens of government; lessening neighborhood tensions; eliminating prejudice and discrimination; defending human and civil rights secured by law; and combating community deterioration and juvenile delinquency.
I could do most of the work. Ideally I'd hope that someone would want to run/have time. Whatever the purpose (educational, compensate, etc.).

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

Last night PBS Newshour had a segment, speaking with SH residents who want to create something lasting and good out of the tragedy.  Perhaps you could offer your help to that group?

Also, I'm sensing that you have ideas about non-profits in your mind that did not make it into this diary.  It would help readers here if you would take the time to write about these ideas.

Yes I do. I have thrown around a specific purpose but do not want to state due to a tangential possible purpose (aloud in this manner).

But thanks for the feedback. I don't know if I could, but I would try.

I moreso intended it to be brief, such that if someone were very impassioned about x or y and had time to run, I just wanted to be known I would set up as they wished.

As there are many ideas in other threads but difficult to accomplish without vehicle.
