The last few days have been difficult for me with President Obama putting chained CPI on the table for Seniors, Vets and the Disabled. I exploded.

Perhaps I need a vacation, but being a senior citizen at the lowest end of benefit amounts, how can I afford to do that?

I can't, so there are times I put emotions in gear, especially when a Democratic president who is smart, well educated, articulate, has a wonderful family, money, position, power, respect and whom I voted for twice and donated money, makes an error in judgment that is so blatantly stupid, it is almost beyond breath-taking.

But, my emotions are in check now.

Oh, well. We all stumble at times, but this is the first time I've seen a president tie his shoelaces together and not realize he was going to do a full face splat by doing so.

Look, I'm a senior. My parents spilled their own blood to get unions and the New Deal. Being a democrat was as important as faith in our Creator. Nothing less! My parents drilled in me about the struggle and what that struggle left for me and my sister...

...and why the New Deal should be considered Holy to democrats and the democratic party. It is the only thing that stands between you and slavery to poverty by the wealthy class.

I kinda think that is important, but I am old and set in old democratic ways. But, I do wonder why such a nice guy as our President, doesn't understand this simple idea and belief?

So, I apologize for getting upset the last couple of days. But please don't ask me to go along with being lied to by leaders of the Party. I can't.

I still believe what my mom and dad told me, that no American should go without a decent life, especially when the few have so much and remain clueless to citizenship.

There is nothing democratic or American about poverty and income inequality.

Thanks for your time and consideration,
Wendys Wink

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
