The ELECTORS are actually in the constitution, the political parties aren't mentioned anywhere in the constitution.
Which is the best bargain?
Okay, the GOP National Convention was pretty funny with that Clint Eastwood chair-talking baloney.
And the Big Dog was great, Obama, not so much. But the Democrats was actually a PLANNED event and had a script, the GOP just winged it a al Eastwood.
THE GOP National Convention couldn't get their Romney-Bot'esque speakers on in prime-time. They had Mrs. Romney-Bot on, and she snoozed it up. The keynote was awful. Chris Christie almost forgot to mention the Romney-Bot, which was a hoot. Not that I watched much of it.
My point is for 135 million why didn't we get any entertainment? None? Nothing. We
knew who was going to be nominated at least 3 months before the conventions. There was no news to report.
There are 2,951 US Counties, 64 Louisiana Parishes and 18 Alaskan Boroughs, or a total of 3,033 county equivalent units. If that money had went to them that would have meant $44,510 each. That would have bought each county a brand new 12 or 15 passenger van or cargo van, or a 2-ton work pickup. Each county could have certainly used this for general government uses.
But noooooo, it was more important to have these snooze-fests.
DURING THE WORST ECONOMIC RECESSION/DEPRESSION in 80 years (4 generations).
Our federal government can't figure this out?
The parties could have spent a million bucks and put on a cheap convention, paid for it themselves, had a couple of delegates come to Washington DC and give their vote count at the Lincoln Memorial steps. That's 100 plane tickets, put some tents on the national mall and let them stay there oversight. Do it cheap.
BUT NOOOOO. This political baloney is more important than our national finances.
There, I'm done. And I include Democrats in this idiocy as well as the usual suspects, The Republicans. It would have been the perfect time for the Democrats to highlight that they are financially responsible and that would have put the spotlight on the "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" party.
