The Pen might be mightier than the Sword but I'm afraid Gun will top Pen -
in the latest Congressional game of Rock - Paper - Scissors!

As long as the NRA continues to stand for No Reasonable Argument...than
"Guns Do It Better" will prove to be a much sexier sales pitch to the American
People than the Victoria Secret Ad that will air during this year's Super Bowl.

Because if the NRA is playing...It's usually...Game Over!!!!

What other organization would be able to take a position that a man shooting a woman
in a marital dispute - as a "domestic violence issue instead of a problem with

Or characterizing 600 Chicago teenagers being gunned downed in gang warfare this year as -
a single parent or a broken family issue.

And of course the tragedy of Sandy Hook being a "mental health issue - a school
safety problem - a wakeup call to look at the video game culture...but certainly not
an issue with guns.

After all we don't arrest guns...we arrest people!...or at least until the Supreme Court
says that "Guns are People too"

If you have a social issue that you want addressed...the NRA might be your best friend
at giving it the National attention it deserves.

Climate Change? - Does an AK-47 emit carbon dioxide upon firing?
Right to an Abortion? - In the case of Rape at gunpoint?
Same sex Marriage? - Just how many shotgun weddings are there?

Former President of the NRA - Charlton Heston might still be my favorite Moses!

The NRA will no doubt seek to find common ground on the best way to upgrade the
National Database for instant background checks to expand the list of people who
should not be allowed to purchase long as it doesn't inconvenience law
abiding citizens from being able to buy guns as easily as a Big Gulp and Tater Tots!

But shouldn't we also go beyond inconvenience and actually find common ground that
there are certain weapons that even law abiding citizens shouldn't own!...any weapon
at all?

Because as we know...sometimes it's not about the weapons you can buy...but the ones you can borrow or steal...and maybe we should make it harder than being able to borrow it from your mother or steal it from your local Wal-Mart!

Once I figure out how to make it into a left wing - progressive - bleeding heart issue...
and make it into a tragedy...I am sure - I can now get the NRA to help!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
