The fiscal cliff negotiation is a scam whose intent is to undermine the intelligence of the American citizens. The fact is that all politicians whether they claim to be Democrats or Republicans are slaves to the military industrial complex, our corporatocracy, and our wealthy. It is for this reason they treat the working person’s income, their wages at a higher marginal rate of up to 35%, while the wealthy’ s income, generally capital gains, at only 15%. It is for this reason that farm subsidies goes mostly to corporations. It is for this reason that loopholes mostly protect income of corporations and the wealthy. It is for this reason Mitt Romney paid less than 15% in income taxes when the average middle class worker paid more.

This has created a country where the wealthiest 400 people have accumulated more than the bottom 175 million Americans. Our policies value only those with capital as they attempt to demonize workers, unions, and anyone fighting for a living wage.

While Republican politicians choose to be completely oblivious to the poor and middle class, Democrats realize that the population needs a good cop lest we get social and economic instability that occurs when a population is continuously pilfered. Make no mistake however, both their policies is intent on protecting the wealthy.

Almost 90% of the financial wealth in this country is owned by 10% of the population. Approximately 60% of all income in this country goes to the top 20%. Yet, politicians, the corporatocracy, and the wealthy would like middle class America to believe they just are not doing enough, they must pay more.

The middle class is tapped out. The wealthy by the share power of their capital and ownership of most politicians have pilfered them. There should be no cuts in Social Security, Medicare, or any other part of our social safety net. Our policies must be re-biased to the middle class. We must revisit “The People’s Budget”, a real middle class centric budget proposal.

Let us go over the cliff. While we show politicians and our plutocracy we will no longer be slaves to their backdoor dealings, let us make sure we take care of our neighbors that will lose their un-employment insurance and other cuts from the sequester. Let us go over the cliff and start anew.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

(seriously!), let me ask you: what are you personally willing to accept as a consqequence?  Your diary appears to be largely a diatribe against the wealthy, without any consideration as to how things will affect the middle class/working poor you're concerned about.

My wife and I are fully prepared for higher taxes (and worked hard to elect Democrats to implement them).  However, the Cliff won't affect us, because our taxes would go up the same amount under any of the proposed scenarios.  Ditto, we don't need an extension of unemployment insurance because we both have secure employment.  And, there aren't many Government programs we need to have fully funded, so sequestration and the debt limit won't affect us either.  Finally, while we can expect to take a hit on our investments in the markets tank, we're both far better off in terms of savings than the average middle/working

The question is: are YOU prepared to absorb the hit of higher taxes, lower spending, no unemployment insurance and reduced savings, for the sake of standing firm on your political principles?

BTW, While I am no longer in the top 2 percent I was when my business was flourishing and am still doing quite well. That said, I am sure many are tired of being held hostage for a pitance, continuum of soft pain.

It just may be time for us to let it be known that we must have a paradigm shift. My post is not a diatribe it is fact. We need a structural change in the country. We need to determine worth. A stock broker is not worth more than a teacher. We have been indoctrinated into a financial ideology that while good for those who control, inherit, or pilfer capital is fine is not in the best interest of most hard working Americans.

We need a reconstruction of our economy and how it is "based" period. I am saying this being a business owner, investor, tax payer, and someone that has taken nothing from government.

You may not think you make direct use of these things, but you NEED a society in which the unfortunate are partly protected by unemployment insurance and other programs. You're not going to feel very proud or secure in a society where these are no longer available.

year pause" being rumored about. Make any changes after jan. 1st contingent on unemployment benefits and an infrastucture stimulus. Of course, Democrats would rather cave, they're very good at that.
