“Knife in the back”… That’s the phrase the Republican Long Island Congressman Peter King said about Republican Speaker John Boehner and the Republican majority in the House of Representatives. It is “why the American people hate Congress” said Gov. Chris Christie of Speaker Boehner’s refusal to allow a vote for disaster relief in New York and New Jersey in the aftermath of superstorm Sandy.
One by one, Republican Members of Congress took to the floor of the House to blast their Republican Speaker of the House and their political party for REFUSING to even vote on disaster relief after Sandy.
It was unprecedented. Republicans criticizing their own party for playing politics with the lives of thousands of New York and New Jersey residents.
The departing Congress is absolutely the worst in the history of the United States. With a total focus on beating President Obama, the radical rightwing Republican Congrssional majority did NOTHING in the face of an awful economic crisis, unemployment, two wars and occupations, and finally superstorm Sandy.
This Congress is laying the foundation for a movement against income inequality. This radical rightwing Republican has so discredited itself that they have no case to make against the desire of millions of Americans to save the middle class and allow the working poor to access the quality of life of the middle class.
America’s banks are still playing in la la land. A new article in the Atlantic magazine exposes the continuing dangerous malpractice of America’s banks. The article by Jesse Eisinger says banks are again non-transparent and have turned again to to trading instead of investing and lending.
We have much work to do, brothers and sisters, to take advantage of the implosion of the radical rightwing Republican Congress and the continuing ripoffs of America’s financial system.
