Having pulled my hamstring over a weekend, I limped into work and shared my woe.  Two of my nursing friends, one who loves winter sports however is extremely clumsy and always gets an injury of some sort and the other a dedicated runner.

Get yourself some Tiger Balm they said almost in unison.  One actually had the little jar with her and gave it to me to try.

That my friends is how it began.  It was such a relief and I was truly impressed.  As a result I went out and bought some Tiger Balm for me.

Night after night I would rub the mentholated salve on my knee and the back of my leg. So you may ask, how did this save my relationship?

Although a true new kid to the blog arena I have a confession to make. I, me, toad have a snoring issue.  That is correct and my daughter once tape recorded it!  Somewhere between wild ducks in flight and a train is the noise I make.  The more tired I am, the louder the snore!

One night, after rubbing the miracle balm on I thought enough to rub the residual across my nose.  Right where a breath right strip would go, (which by the way did not work every time).  Wow! I never realized I was congested until the balm was placed on my nose!

Not thinking anything other than it made me breath better I continued this ritual for weeks.  One morning my sweetheart tells me that lately it has been such a joy to sleep with me.  Looking at him somewhat confused he began to explain this comment.
"I haven't worn my ear plugs for at least 10 days now because you have not been snoring! " Yes, sweetheart that he is, he would insert the ear plugs and my snore just became a dull noise.

Of course I am a doubting "Thomas" because the deviated septum surgery did not work and countless of other remedies were never lasting.  Now however it has been greater than 30 days and NO earplugs are a part of the nightly ritual rather a swipe of Tiger Balm across the nose has replaced same.

I am even more blessed in the fact that my sweetheart has no sense of smell so that is not an issue.  Tiger Balm kept the earplugs out and I can whisper sweet nothings into his ear before I drift off to join the mallards in flight.

The disclaimer- will not work if you sleep on your back OR you drink some Bailey's before bedtime!

Ribit ribit- honk honk- take time out to smile!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
