While perusing the blog of Newtown conspiracy theorist and professor James Tracy, I was surprised to see a link to an interview he granted on Wednesday with KPFA/Pacifica Radio.  My curiosity got the better of me, so I clicked on it.  The interview was with Bonnie Faulkner on her show, "Guns and Butter."  Somehow, I expected to hear Tracy get called out for some of his outlandish views.  I was wrong.  Faulkner pretty much fell down, and didn't ask even one probing question.  Instead, she pretty much let Tracy hold forth for an hour with his outlandish account of the shooting and its aftermath.  Listen to it here or here.

For instance, Tracy claimed that medical examiner Wayne Carver's apprehensiveness was a sign that he was not comfortable with the initial story.  Hmmm--could it be that he was shaken up by seeing kids literally shot to pieces?  He also continued to peddle his claim that there was a second shooter.  As "evidence," he claimed six guns were found at the site, and he didn't think it was possible for someone to fire that many shots in a short period of time with so much precision.  He also repeated his claim that the shooting was some sort of drill, claiming that federal authorities were taking part in a drill in nearby Bridgeport.

You would think that Faulkner would have asked some tough questions, given that Tracy has some pretty severe credibility issues.  He's a frequent contributor to the Institute for Global Research, the leftie version of WorldNutDaily.  He's also a truther, and believes the Oklahoma City bombing was staged too.  Moreover, he actually has the nerve to suggest that the victims' families haven't been subjected to enough public scrutiny.

But then I found out that Faulkner has some pretty close ties to the truther movement.  She's frequently given airtime to truthers on "Guns and Butter."  Among some of her more recent shows:  A Firefighter, A Demolition Expert and An Architect Look at Ground Zero, Why the Facts of 9/11 Must Be Suppressed, and Ground Zero Evidence of High Tech Explosives.  She's also hosted a truther film festival in the past.  Methinks that Tracy must have thought he'd find a kindred spirit in Faulkner, since to date this is his only interview.

Tell Faulkner what you think of her epic fail.  Drop her an email at bfaulkner at yahoo dot com.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
