Some of you may have seen this story already:

Utah man protests Obama's gun control plan by carrying an assault rifle at J.C. Penney
Joseph Kelley carried an unloaded AR-15 and a Glock 19c into a J.C. Penney store in Utah

Read more:

Hours after President Barack Obama called on Congress to ban assault weapons, one man's protest raised some eyebrows at a Utah store.

An Ogden woman snapped a few photos of a man standing inside a J.C. Penney on Wednesday with a big gun slung over his shoulder.

I've shopped at the local J.C. Penney store from time to time over the years and have actually increased my shopping there since they defied the anti-gay One Million Moms group over hiring Ellen DeGeneres as a spokesperson.  J.C. Penney is a chain, not a franchise, so policy decisions are made by the corporate headquarters, not individual store owners.  I have decided, after seeing this story, to contact them and tell them that I will boycott their company until they ban guns from their stores and post signs advising shoppers of the ban before they enter. They have that right, since their stores are private property.  And they should enforce it, too, by immediately calling the police if one of these morons ignores the sign and walks into the store anyway.  I can't imagine that most of the other shoppers were comfortable with this ridiculous stunt - I know I sure as hell wouldn't be.  I'm tired of this bullshit.

I've only published a few diaries over the years and I'm not very good with tags.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

(The diary will be removed.)
Are you sure you want to save these changes to the published diary?
