Mitch McConnell's new campaign manager, Jesse Benton - who has ties to the White Supremacy group Kentucky League of the South which the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) calls a White Supremacy Hate Group - sent out an email to McConnell's constituents in Kentucky that lie and falsely claimed that "background checks to ensure" Government's "full-scale confiscation."

Here is the full text of McConnell campaign's email filled with blatant lies.

Dear Patriot,

You and I are literally surrounded.

The gun-grabbers in the Senate are about to launch an all-out-assault on the Second Amendment. On your rights.

On your freedom.
Just the other night, President Obama urged them to act. And then he went one step further, spelling out the 23 different Executive Orders he will take to get your guns.

My friend, our freedom is under direct assault.
From those who want take your guns. From those who want to shred our Constitution, and as our good in friend Rand Paul from Kentucky says, from those who want to be King.

Let me tell you, Mitch McConnell is ready to lead the fight to protect your rights.
Will you stand with Mitch today?
Our Founders fought a revolution to secure our rights. They would have been appalled by what they heard from an American president the other day.
President Obama has the left wing media in a frenzy. And, like his old Chief of Staff, he is determined to not waste a crisis.

The gun-grabbers are in full battle mode. And they are serious.
What’s at stake?
There are almost too many schemes to list. But President Obama’s worst center around:
-The Feinstein Gun Ban, which will criminalize firearms by how they look.
-A thinly-veiled national gun registration scheme hidden under the guise of      “background checks” to ensure federal government minders gain every bureaucratic tool they need for full-scale confiscation.
-An outright BAN on magazines holding more than 10 rounds.
-And that’s not even close to the end of it.
23 new Executive Orders.
It is almost hard to believe the sheer breadth and brazenness of this attempt to gut our Constitution.

Well, Mitch McConnell is not going to stand aside.
Mitch McConnell will stand and fight. He will lead the Senate Republicans against this unconstitutional agenda, and with your help, we will prevail.
But Mitch can’t do it alone.

That’s why I am asking you to sign the attached Defense of the Second Amendment pledge today to show that you stand with me in this vital fight.

Friend, from his very first run for office, Leader McConnell has always stood strong for your gun rights. Like you and me, he firmly believes that the Second Amendment protects YOU as an individual.
And, he absolutely will not let president Obama or the Senate Democrats take that right away from us.
So please help him fight back today.
For Freedom,
Jesse Benton
Campaign Manager
Sen. Mitch McConnell

P.S. President Obama and his allies are committed to eroding your Constitutional freedoms. Please sign your pledge TODAY to let him know that we stand with Mitch McConnell in opposing this gun grab.

"Confiscation" - That is such a blatant lie that is totally geared to cause the people to rise up against government.

"Gun Grabbers" - What the hell is a gun grabber?  Is that some new legal term or just some dumb TeaTalibagger term?

Rep. John Yarmuth (D-KY) from Louisville, Kentucky responded against McConnell's email and said:

“I didn’t think it was possible for Sen. McConnell to set a lower bar on honesty, but he did it with that email. He’s stoking totally irrational and unjustifiable fear, clearly for political purposes.

"This to me is pretty much as low as you can go in terms of being irresponsible as a public official. He knows that’s not true, he’s making it up, and he’s using it for his own political benefit. And then in the same letter he actually accuses the administration of exploiting something for political purposes. What does he think he’s doing with that email? I was incredulous when I saw it."

 ~ John Yarmuth (D-KY)

Mitch McConnell's email is intentionally geared to fan the flames against government, cause people to become paranoid and intentionally dumbs down Ky voters through blatant lies.

The intentional lies in McConnell's campaign email was geared to literally dumb down Kentucky voters with bullshit lies and to cause paranoia to a degree that would cause Kentucky voters to rise up against the government.

Is Mitch showing signs of desperation?

McConnell's email boils down to him saying: wooooo be scaaared ... evil gun grabbers will confiscate your guns .... woooooo ... but I, Mitch McConnell, will be your gun savior .... wooooo.

What a f'cking laugh that Mitch McConnell is dubbing himself as the Constitution Savior.  McConnell, who voted:

McConnell voted AGAINST:
S 181    - Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009
S 3772  - Paycheck Fairness Act
HR 2831 - Equal Pay Bill
HR 2965 - Don't Ask, Don't Tell Repeal Act
S 2056  - Employment Non-Discrimination Act of 1996
SJ RES 1 -Same Sex Marriage Resolution: Prohibits individual states from recognizing marital status and/or legal benefits from any other unions other than that of a man and woman.
S.Amdt. 2588 - Anti-Rape Amendment (added to Defense Appropriations Act, 2010) -the Amendment would deny defense contracts to companies that ask employees to sign away the right to sue in the event they were raped by co-workers.

McConnell voted FOR:
HR 3396 - Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA)

McConnell's campaign email tries to gin-up an insurrection against government with the blatantly false claim that "background checks" is a tool government will use "for Full-Scale Confiscation."  Notice also, the email constantly refers to those of us, including us gun owners, who want Gun Safety Legislation as: "Gun-Grabbers."

One more thing, I said above that Mitch McConnell's campaign manager, Jesse Benton, has ties to the white supremacy group, Kentucky League of the South.  When Jesse Benton was Vice President of Ron Paul's 501(c)4 lobbying organization Campaign for Liberty, he hired a man named: Bazil "Bazz" Childress to be coordinator for Fayette County Kentucky. Bazil Childress was an active member of the Kentucky League of the South before, during and after Jesse Benton hired him.

The Southern Poverty Law Center reports:

The League of the South is a neo-Confederate group that advocates for a second Southern secession and a society dominated by “European Americans.” The league believes the “godly” nation it wants to form should be run by an “Anglo-Celtic” (read: white) elite that would establish a Christian theocratic state and politically dominate blacks and other minorities. Originally founded by a group that included many Southern university professors, the group lost its Ph.D.s as it became more explicitly racist. The league denounces the federal government and northern and coastal states as part of “the Empire,” a materialist and anti-religious society.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
