Darth Issa:  Lord Vader, the luncheon this Tuesday will be splendid for the Imperial Army (Republicans) to come together and plan our approach.
Darth Vader:  Yes, the event would be a good asset to the cause of the Sith.  The Emperor would approve.
Darth Issa:  The Rebels (Democrats) can't stop us this time.
Darth Vader:  They will join us or die.
Don't you just love events like this being held in exclusive clubs and hosting rich fat cats like Rep. Darrell Issa with REAL dialog and discussion about the issues we face in America?

I mean, it's not as if Issa is REALLY looking to meet his constituents of California's 49th Congressional District.  He's just looking to meet constituents of the 49th Congressional District that can afford to attend this event.

Behold the details:

The San Juan Capistrano, Dana Point and San Clemente chambers of commerce have joined together to present a special lunchtime event with Congressman Darrell Issa on Tuesday, January 29.

Redistricting has shifted much of south Orange County into the district represented by Issa. Guests at the event will have the chance to meet the congressman and hear him speak about his role serving the three cities in the House of Representatives.

His role, which is what?  Any Kossack here want to volunteer to point out what Darrell Issa's real role is?
The luncheon will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club, 26772 Avery Parkway, Mission Viejo.
A golf club!  This is a superb way for country club members to mingle and really talk about "critical" thinking in the world of politics.
The cost to attend the event is $35 per person and includes a buffet lunch. Reservations for tables of 12 are available for $400. For $1,000, guests can receive premium reserved seating for four and recognition as presenting sponsors. For $250, guests will receive reserved seating for two and recognition as supporting sponsors.
$250?  $400?  I can't afford that much!  Who is Issa REALLY catering to?

Here's the suck part:

RSVPs are required by Friday, January 25. Forms are available through the San Juan Capistrano Chamber of Commerce or can be downloaded and printed out by clicking here. For more information, call 949.493.4700.
Damn it!  I wanted to register but no, I can't since there was a deadline.

Oh well.  Let's just go ahead and phone the line to vent our frustration at the venue, Issa and his politics.

Actually, we might just go ahead and crash the event if we could.  Nah, on second thought it would be better to do a honk-n-wave outside of the venue.  That way, Issa and his fellas can sense they aren't alone.

Remember, the address is as follows:

Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club, 26772 Avery Parkway, Mission Viejo, CA.
Come on residents of the CA-49 district!  Look alive here!  :)

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

  •  Democrats hold just as many fundraisers (3+ / 0-)

and we wouldn't see it as fair if a bunch of right wingers tried to crash them. I don't see any upside in us disrupting GOP fundraisers.

It is possible to mount a peaceful protest against Darrell Issa outside of the fundraiser so long as it's being done with humility and respect for the fundraiser.  By me saying "Let's nail him," it could imply a whole number of things:

      1)  Actually going up to Issa and going after his views.
      2)  Mounting honk and wave rallies
      3)  Passing out leaflets

I think Kossacks need to think creative as far as outreach.  Simply crashing the party doesn't help.

On the other hand, since not a single Kossack seems to be interested in posting diaries about CA-49 and I'm the only one who is doing so (even though the Democratic and Independent voter registration increased significantly in 2012), I figure I'll take the honor of being the motivational speaker here.  You have to start somewhere, even if you're dealing with a "red district" like CA-49.

I changed some of the content of this diary so it doesn't imply I want Democrats to go CRAZY.  Just honk 'n' wave crazy.

  •  Don't forget to lock your cars (0+ / 0-)

Back in the day they used to hang horse thieves. Ah, those were the good old days.

  •  Although I live only blocks away (0+ / 0-)

I sense the "event" will be sparsely attended.  Most people around here are not the contributing kind.  The folks that would are bought in already.

Me going over there and making noise would only elevate that car thief Issa.

    •  I'd still honk and wave (0+ / 0-)

Anywhere nearby the event helps, even if you

It would help if a Democratic candidate were already running, like 2012's Jerry Tetalman or even someone else.

Perhaps maybe voter registration should be started.

  •  This is typical (0+ / 0-)

of the Republicans getting together with the plutocrats that bribe them (see politican contributions) then going to the floor of the House and telling everybody what "the American People want." Issa is not alone in this, Boehner does it often, Issa is just one of the most obnoxious ones. They are the reason the Country is in the shape it is.

    •  Which is why.... (0+ / 0-)

Darrell Issa should be defeated for re-election.  I'm continuing these diaries to fire up our base down in the CA-49 district.

NO Congressional district should be safe Republican in my view, especially considering the mess the GOP has gotten the U.S. into.

And Issa is going to pay for his continuous phony "fiscal conservatism."
