Wednesday!
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
If you'd like to be part of the Itzl Alert Network, please leave a comment asking to join, or send us a message asking to join. We'd love to have you. The bigger our network, the less likely someone will be stranded all alone.
The week's half over, and I feel as if both nothing has gotten done and I've accomplished a lot.
Perception is such a tricksey thing.
If I were to list all the things I did, it would be a long list, and yet the list of things I should have done and the list of things I still need to do are ever so much longer.
It didn't help that I splurged last night on an 89¢ burrito from Taco Bueno that was cold, and woke me in the middle of the night with cramps. A slight case of food poisoning, no doubt, but I have an iron constitution so that's as far as it went.
This confirms for me that I shouldn't be eating out until all the restaurants and businesses remember that the customer is the one who suffers when they do stupid things like deny health care and paid sick leave to their employees - and when the customer suffers, they don't go back. Enough customers suffer and the business fails.
No more eating out as a splurge, only if I am forced to by travel. And even then, I'm thinking perhaps I should pack along my cooking things and food and prepare my own meals - so very medieval!
So, long list of things to do today...
How busy are you?
