I don't know if it is an explosion of gun violence, or if, in the wake of Newtown, we are finally seeing more reporting of these incidents. In my community, the last couple of weeks have left a 3-year old critically wounded by a gun that was "out and available" while the responsible gun-owning adults were hanging out in another room, and a 4-year old taken off life support after being shot in the head by another child with a loaded gun that was left sitting on a living room chair.
A 2-year old and a 7-year old were shot in a drive-by at 7:45 pm on a weeknight. Last month, another 4-year old was taken off life support after being shot in the head in his car seat in a drive-by shooting.
At what age does this become intolerable? For all the RKBAers who seem unmoved by the deaths of 6-year olds, is 4 young enough to shock the senses? Is 2?
