Greetings Daily Kos! My name is Elon James White and I'm happy to announce that we at This Week in Blackness will be posting directly to the DK community. I've been lucky enough to have my work posted within the community before but in an effort to have more of a conversation across myriad topics and myriad spaces we will be posting episodes of our flagship shows directly here. Also we've set up a This Week in Blackness group as well where the hosts of our shows will be posting and commenting. We're hoping to also get news stories and topics from you folks to add to the spectrum of our coverage.

PLEASE NOTE: Yes, the show's have the word "Blackness" in them. This does not mean you need to be black to listen. It also doesn't mean we only cover "black" topics. Our shows are topical and our hosts just so happen to be black. Yes this adds a different perspective but not an exclusionary one. We've been featured on Best of the Left numerous times and we love comments and conversations from everyone.

But for now I'm posting the latest from our 2 Monday - Thursday shows TWiB Radio and TWiB in the Morning.

TWiB! Radio: I host this show with PHD Candidate Dacia Mitchell and Aaron Rand Freeman. We hit the major news stories of the day while always keeping a good sense of humor about things. On this episode we talk Colin Powell Vs. Bill O'Reilly, the student loan bubble and responding to listener feedback.

TWiB in the Morning: Hosted by Political Strategist L. Joy Williams and blogger Nichelle Stephens. We talk John Kiriakou, what the gun debate needs to talk about and more from the #amTWIB crew.

We cover new, interesting and important topics everyday from a perspective that sometimes gets ignored by the mainstream and sometimes even within the progressive sphere. We're hoping to get a great conversation going here so please feel free to chime in! Suggest news stories and weigh in. We may end up reading your comments on-air! I look forward to great spirited conversations. I hope all is well.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
