Standard disclaimer: Leave your loathing of meta, World of Warcraft, or community diaries outside. If you think we should be playing your MMO instead, start a guild and write a recruitment diary. Don't leave a comment here and then get all hurtful when it isn't received with flowers and candy. This goes double for people coming in to attack guildies over other diaries or comments - STAY OUT! Standard advertisement: Wreck List is the Daily Kos World of Warcraft guild. We are Horde-side on the Garrosh server. To join, read this diary and visit the Guild web site to put in an application. Yes, you have to be Horde. No, you don't have to be hardcore - casuals, PvPers, and people that just want to hang out on guild chat are all welcome. |
More below the fold:
With the fall of the Sha of Fear, Wreck List has downed all 16 current raid bosses in Mists of Pandaria. Here's Ninotchka with the news:
And we’re heroic!
Team Kaels is pleased to announce that we have defeated the only thing we have to fear, Fear Itself! Yes, we managed a complete surprise kill on the Sha of Fear on Tuesday night this week. We (ok, I) had been struggling with the platform portion of the fight, repeatedly finishing up there just in time to see the other half of the raid being teleported away to die a messy death. It seemed like I was never going to learn it. I was resigned to spending all the rest of the week working on this stupid fight, which manages to ably combine boredom and sheer terror.
And then, on our last pull of the evening, everyone who was sent out managed to survive the first platform and returned with 4 or 5 seconds to spare. “Cool,” I thought, and I focused on healing up and doing my rotation. But then the other group got back, and it was out to the platforms again. And our whole team survived again, how odd. And a third rotation, and suddenly the boss was at less than 20% health. I still didn’t believe we were actually going to do it, until all of a sudden it just fell over and the light was shining on us as our fears faded away.
So now it’s on to heroics. We get our first taste of heroic Stone Guard tomorrow night, and I want to thank Team RubiPam and our pickup group in advance for helping me keep in practice a couple weeks ago. Wish us luck, I think I’m going to need it.

Team RubiPam is knocking on Elegon's door, and the Saturday Night Massacre continues to dominate the Sha of Anger. Here's Pamena with the details:
Team RubiPam appears to have stabilized (and now that I say that, I've totally jinxed us), and is doing pretty well. Last Thursday, with Baelzebabe as our second tank now, along with Thanael, we went into MSV with our regular crew and kicked butt. Baelz is really a hero for stepping up to tank for us, as he would rather dps and has never tanked or even played as blood DK, but he was marvelous, and we took down Stone Guard (3rd pull), Feng (2nd pull) and Gara'jal (2nd pull). We nearly got Spirit Kings too, and Bemused did some truly heroic one healing of almost all of it after a certain stupid disc priest whose name rhymes with Shamena got caught in the Volley and died early on. Monday night, we went back in and got Spirit Kings down after a couple of wipes, as people who hadn't done the fight before learned how to survive (including the aforementioned disc priest who finally learned to get out of the way of volley) We then worked on Elegon for a while - we didn't get it done, but we're confident we will get it this week. It's great to have Elu back with us after his break for marryin' and we are ready to roll now!
Saturday Night Massacre report:
We had our usual successful and fun Sha run Saturday night, and then a bunch of us went on to do LFR. Terocone is back playing again after a long absence (he's a Navy guy now), and he tanked the Sha and the LFR, along with Corwynn on his bear, and both did great. This Saturday, Snuffy may lead an ICC raid after we kill the Sha, as we still need Shadowmourne to complete the guild legendary weapon achievement, and he, Thanael and I think others need to get stuff from ICC to do that. If we don't do that, we'll try LFR or something else again. These are fun Saturday night events, and I'm glad to see so many guildies getting involved!

Taymatt has an addendum for those of you who want to gear up for Saturday Nights:
For those looking to gear up a bit, assuming you don't find a piece of gear that is of adequate item level in the guild vault, remember to look at the "profession" drop down menu in the guild roster. You can see all of the patterns known by every tailor, leather worker, or blacksmith in the guild. If you see something you like, feel free to ask one of those crafters, either in-game or via a mail whether you can get help get them the materials to make you some new clothes! |
I would be very happy to help out with what few patterns I know. Mail me in-game with what plate you need, and I'll let you know what the mats are or send it to you if I happen to have mats already.
