So, today is an election day - bond issues, which means few voters to begin with.
And now we have snow.
Big, fat flakes falling thickly. We will be getting snow until approximately 1:00 am.
There's already some accumulation. I hear that many state employees will be sent home early, but as "essential personnel" I have to stay no matter how bad the weather gets.
Had I lived in the NE where the snows were so bad last week, I would have been required to bring clothes and food to work and camp out at my desk until the weather improved. Sleeping on a marble floor, even with padding, is not comfortable.
I've been lucky so far - the weather has not been so bad here in Oklahoma that I haven't been able to somehow manage to get to and from work, so sleeping on cold marble floors has never been on my list of things I've had to do for my job.
Still, it sucks that I'll have to stay at work while others (including co-workers) get to go home.
