Capitalism and free market are quaint notions that became impractical during the globalization era. Mom and pop businesses closed, and corporations dominated every industry. Now we are watching those corporations become behemoth international monopolies.

The new game is World Domination, and the American's are no longer the most desired market, and no longer needed. That is why productivity increased and wages remained stagnant. That is why the prices keep going up as the product quality goes down. These monopolies keep forming by merging major corporations and governments are being bought to control the people. They are now our accepted way of life.
America was owned by the people, and governed by the people, for the good of the people, but no more. We allowed corporations to buy our government, lull us to sleep and use our government against us to steal our wealth and resources. They took our wealth and now target the rest of the world.
No one on earth will be free except the aristocracy. It's just business, and EVERYTHING is business - your government, your life or death, your children's future, your speech, your thoughts, your destiny, all controlled by the corporatocracy.
We were warned. "Greed is good" said Ronald Reagan.
We saw it coming. "Citicorp, a commercial bank holding company, merged with the insurance company Travelers Group in 1998 to form the conglomerate Citigroup, a corporation combining banking, securities and insurance services under a house of brands that included Citibank, Smith Barney, Primerica, and Travelers. Because this merger was a violation of the Glass–Steagall Act and the Bank Holding Company Act of 1956, the Federal Reserve gave Citigroup a temporary waiver in September 1998." Less than a year later, The Gramm–Leach–Bliley Act was passed to legalize these types of mergers on a permanent basis. -wiki
Game on. Monsanto, Quanta, Luxottica and a few others will now be joined by WalMart Apple, Comcast, and Google. Too-big-to-fail banks will continue to be necessary to manage the finances of too-big-to-compete and lend money to governments, necessary to control the masses.
We let them take our government. They took over Texas and Florida, then disgraced the Democratic President, culminating in the final blow, appointing George W. Bush as POTUS in 2000, who impoverished America's citizens for future decades.
Osama bin Laden was right when he said Americans are fat and complacent. We never raised a whimper of protest while the corporatocracy distracted us with wars, as they stole our country. Now, they own us.
