Since 2010 I've been talking about the GOP obstructionism as "Sabotage". It's gotten a bit of play, but not nearly enough.

Republicans are Saboteurs. They are acting in bad faith and are attempting to sabotage our future to serve their ideology. They don't want a functional government. Their job is to destroy government. Period.
Imagine if we had a "Republicans are purposefully sabotaging the economy" meme just floating around - audible, yet not quite crystalline in terms of our understanding.
As we go in to the "sequester", imagine the difference between "Republican Obstructionism" and "Republican Sabotage". It's a different planet in terms of actionability and in terms of understanding.
As it is, we're going to get a healthy dose of 'Republican obstrucitonism', but we're going to miss the true nature of this move, which is Republican Sabotage of our economic and political systems.
I'm pretty pissed off. More than a few in my family are going to suffer because of this brinksmanship which has been pitched as a measured confrontation between fiscal conservatives and liberals. It's not, nothing remotely akin to the corporate media's framing of Right vs Left.
This is nothing short of economic sabotage. Republicans decided that they want to have this monkey wrench thrown into the machine at the current time to create a fiscal crisis so they can use the policy that they have lying around.
Because Democrats were sponsored, too cowardly, or 'pragmatic', we're looking at facing them down absent rhetorical or ideological moorings. Because we didn't draw attention to Republican Sabotage of the economy for political gain we're going to be stuck arguing about continuing deficit spending.
We're stuck in supporting business as usual while Republicans area fighting.
All we had to do is to give them a healthy dose of Republican Sabotage and we would have the upper hand. As is, we're going to be susceptible to arguments from the media. I wonder what direction that's going to go...
I'd like to thank the "Pragmatists" in our midst for making, yet another political and ideological fiasco to go down.
Woo hoo!
