Again, feel free to ignore me as usual.

I don't care about mojo/recs or any other such frippery. I come here to read great writing from folks I've known here and the NK'sOTB. My diaries are pure meta.

However, As I was plodding through the G.O.P. website looking for..... something... hell I forgot. That place has that effect. But while there, I came across this. Actually, I've given you all you need to have a grand old time. No need to follow me beyond the Fleur de Kos unless you wish to hear me drone on about how I think this is funny and/or "ironic."

I think I went there in response to something Mentioned on TRMS about the up-coming Supreme Court decision on Section 5 of The Voting Rights Act. I went to the GOP platform or statement of philosophy or whatever that was under the banner "Our Party." (I especially loved the last one!) And just below that, was a list of "Coalition Support."
In that list is a link to "Black Republicans." My first thought was, "Both of them??"

So I went there expecting to see articles by prominent Black Republican leaders. Some insight to the new plan for out-reach. Instead I find dated articles from Reince Priapis..er.. Priebus and a couple from "Team Romney" but not a single mention or picture of a Black Republican... until I got to page 3.

April 29th, 2012. I missed my estimate by 50%.

Back to the Fifties!

The Hispanic Republicans.... at least there are 7.

I couldn't go to RNC Women... I just... couldn't...

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

three of the four people the page ballyhoos as proof that "African Americans have a long history of involvement with the Republican Party" were active in Civil War times and the fourth is a Massachusetts liberal elected to the Senate in the 1960s-1970s.

....Blacks had little choice but to declare themselves Republican. Especially after Reconstruction and during Jim Crow, Sr.

The turnaround, and thus the most egregious time for Jim Crow, Sr. as they put more and more obstacles in the way, was in the Twenties with mass migratrion from the south to the north, and the Thirties and the Roosevelts, especially Eleanor. She made everyone, poor or not feel as if they belonged to this country. Blacks especially revered her. By that time, most large cities had large black enclaves and thus added to the Democratic bases there. The smoking gun for all this conspiracy came when Nixon adopted the "Southern Strategy", flipping the Dixiecrats to Repuklicans and the country to this day is still divided pretty much on the Civil War lines.

    The Black Republicans page has:

    169 Facebook shares, 45 tweets, 1 Google+, 26 emails

    RNC Women has 46 FB, 6 T, 1 G+, 1 email.

    GOP Hispanics has 39 FB, 12 T, 1 G+, 0 email.

This is the Republicans' attempt to do internet outreach? "Hey Republicans, share this with your friends!" and only a few people do it (probably including the guy who designed the website).

    Those numbers are pathetic.

On the page about women, the newest item is from 10/17/2012. It's called "Mitt Romney's strong record on women." hahahahaha
