An individual, who has not revealed his or her identity yet, claims to be preparing to run for Governor of Wisconsin in 2014, presumably as a Democrat, and is using the Twitter handle @NewWisGov to send anti-Scott Walker tweets.

At first glance, this appears to be one of the many parody pages on Twitter, however, there are two telltale indicators as to why this may be someone who is actually planning a run against Scott Walker:

1) Two of @NewWisGov's followers are U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin and U.S. Rep. Ron Kind, both of which are very influential in Wisconsin Democratic politics. I don't think Baldwin and Kind would follow a Twitter page like that unless they know the individual who is behind the Twitter page and know that he or she is planning a run against Walker.

2) When someone asked if the person behind the @NewWisGov page was actually planning on running against Walker, the person behind the page responded by claiming to have "connections":

Someone needed to start running right now. Really enjoying the debate & connections. Really enjoy my privacy though...
Again, I'm not sure if this is a parody page or if this is someone who is actually planning on running against Scott Walker in 2014.

If this is someone who is actually planning a run against Walker, one person it could possibly be is Kevin Conroy, a biotech executive from Madison. Conroy's company, Exact Sciences, is currently seeking government approval for a cancer screening test that it has developed, so it would be unwise for Conroy to verbally speak out against someone who is currently an elected official, such as Scott Walker, unless he was operating under a cloak of anonymity. However, Conroy's name was floated as a potential gubernatorial candidate in 2010, and Conroy refused to run then, so there's a possibility it may not be him.

I have two questions for whoever is behind the @NewWisGov Twitter page: Are you actually someone who intends to run against Scott Walker? If so, who are you?

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
