Received this e-mail today from Senator Martin Heinrich (D. NM) in support of Congressman Bruce Braley's (D. IA-1) campaign to succeed retiring Senator Tom Harkin (D. IA):
Two years ago, when I decided to run for the open U.S. Senate seat in New Mexico, one of the first people to support me was my good friend and colleague, Congressman Bruce Braley of Iowa.
So when Senator Tom Harkin decided not to run for re-election, I wanted to return the favor once Bruce announced he was going to run for Tom's Senate seat in Iowa.
I was one of the first people to write Bruce a check for his campaign, and I hope you will join me in supporting him as well by making a donation of $5, $10, or even $25 today:

Like New Mexico, Iowa has always been a swing state and I know from my experience last year that Karl Rove and the U.S. Chamber are going to spend millions trying to take this seat.
We can't let that happen!
Please join me in supporting Bruce by making a donation of $5, $10, $25:

If we are going to maintain a Democratic majority in the Senate, Bruce is going to have to win this race.
But, he can't do it without your help.
Your donation of $5, $10, $25 or whatever you can afford will send a strong message to national Republicans that we are committed to winning this race:

I know Bruce can count on your support.
Sincerely,
Martin
PS-By making a donation of $5, $10, $25 or more today, you can give Bruce the resources he needs to keep this seat Democratic and help us retain our majority in the Senate:

Braley also picked up the endorsement from both Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller and Treasurer Michael Fitzgerald:

Miller and Fitzgerald are both Democrats. They announced their support for Braley in a press release Thursday. In the statement Miller says "Braley fights for Iowa, plain and simple." - The Republic, 3/28/13
