A 2010 decision by the U.S. Federal District Court for the
Eastern District of Michigan regarding dismissal of an EPA enforcement case
against the Detroit Edison Monroe Power Plant - one of the largest
coal fired power plants in the United States - has been
reversed by the Federal Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals according to

Other coal-fired units of Detroit Edison are also involved in this enforcement action.
EPA issued a notice of violation in 2009 against Detroit Edison alleging violations of
the Clean Air Act, including Detroit Edison's failure to comply with New Source Review
requirements under the Clean Air Act and other violations. Last March 13, 2013, EPA
