"Constitutional Rights" is a very selective concept when it comes to right-wing extremists.

The have spent the last several years:

passing laws to ram a probe up a woman's vagina, that is not medically necessary and is against a doctor's advice, to allow the state to rape women to punish them for exercising their constitutional rights

passing TRAP laws to shut down clinics to prevent women from exercising their Constitutional rights, regulating hallway size and other bullshit like that to get their way when they can't get their way legitimately at the ballot box or in the courts

going on 3-day long tirades on the public airwaves, with tens of millions of people listening, slandering women who speak up for their rights as sluts and whores

defending the slanderers

refusing to fill legal, legitimate prescriptions based on "conscience," putting their extremist radical beliefs between a woman and her medical doctor

stripping funding from providers who deliver life-saving medical services to women, especially poor women and women of color

intimidating women by trying to give the state the power to grab their private medical records and do whatever they want with the information they discover, in order to scare women away from exercising their Constitutional rights

murdering abortion services providers.

Now, 14 Republican men have decided that even the slightest, most reasonable, most necessary legislation pertaining to guns - which is supported by 90% of Americans - which will keep our children safer - is a freakin' outrage, such an outrage they will PREVENT THE SENATE FROM EVEN VOTING ON THE MATTER.  They will lie and spit in the faces of the families of the Newtown victims while doing it.

Is that how it is?

Is that where we are now?

Good luck in 2014, assholes.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
