Nothing in the world exists this morning but the situation in Boston, about which we know nothing. Greg Dworkin and Armando joined us as we watched the media circus and tried to make the most of it. Did we treat it too lightly? Did we break a few rules, and take a few liberties with our listening guests? We did. But we also looked away for a few minutes and connected some GunFAIL dots, including the realization that there was actually an accidental discharge at a gun show somewhere in America every single weekend in January! Just for kicks, we threw in a story about the New York hipsters who are raising infants diaper-less, and one about physicists running an experiment to find out whether the entire universe might be a computer simulation.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

  •  I actually listen to this now and wanted to know (0+ / 0-)

who decided on your background music soundtrack and this voice of the guy who makes the intro trailer's voice. Sounds like MSNCB announcing the prison stuff they broadcast.  Turns me off.

Ok, now it's over. Thank God.

    •  Fellow Kossack and Netroots Radio guy... (0+ / 0-)

...made it for me. For free! So that's what I use.

We update it every now and again, and he's made some wacky ones, some NPR-ish ones, and more.

I like it. I'm used to it. And now that I think about it, I guess I've never watched an MSNBC prison show!

      •  For free? Then that explains it and I take back (0+ / 0-)

all I said  (I am such a gullible naive, wouldn't have thought you would have to pay something for getting a soundtrack made. Contrary I thought you would get paid for putting up the radio show and dailykos would have loved to get it done)  Sorry I was naive and of course it's just a matter of different tastes.

I don't watch this prison stuff either, because I have to run away when I start hearing this voice introducing what is about to come.

I am a littly antsy today, please don't feel offended. I just know I would listen to your show much more often if it were shorter. I can't fit it in timewise and actually think it's a pity.

        •  Oh, don't worry about it! (0+ / 0-)

I just wanted to point out how generous the Netroots Radio folks have been in creating those bits. They're very well done and are the most professional-sounding parts of the show!

And yeah, people definitely do charge good money to produce those things.

I kind of like the jarring nature of it. It wakes me up to do the show!

          •  I understand, I am exposed hours and hours (0+ / 0-)

each day to those professionally made dramatized news introduction  pieces heavily underlayed with dramatic music(both CNN and MSNBC do it and it's way too in your face and too much for my ears), so I am overfed with it, hence my allergic reaction.

But you definitely know and wake up to "hey, now it's KagroX and Armando ripping through all the BS we haven't understood yet"... just joking, it's a day you can only survive with some sort of black humor.

I am trying to listen more often. Nice talking to you.

      •  I had time this afternoon and listen to you (0+ / 0-)

chatting with Greg Dworking and Armando... very smooth and lowkey actually. (contrary to the intro trailer ... :-)

It's nice. Just saying, because I never listened before.
