Over 200 rounds were fired during the 24 hours it took to kill one terrorist and wound another.  In that time a Security Officer from M.I.T. was murdered and another officer is seriously injured.  It could have been a heck of a lot worse.

Now I want to ask you a question, how did these terrorists get their hands on the guns they used and the ammo?  I'm sure they went to a gun show and stocked up.  You know one of those gun shows where you don't have to show I.D. and can purchase a many guns and as much ammo as you want without a background check. Those gun shows that you don't want purchases to ungo background checks, those gun shows (and private dealers also) who the NRA doesn't want to spend 5 minutes having background checks on purchases.

We're lucky but still saddened that only 1 Officer was murdered and another seriously injured but it could have been a hell of a lot worse.  Now, I want you to take the pictures of these 2 officers (the injured officer has a 7 month old son) and put these on your wall right next to the pictures of the 20 babies from Newtown and their 6 teachers and aides plus the 3,000 + people who have been murdered with guns since December 14, 2012.  I also want you to send copies to the 46 Senators that you threatened in order to get them to vote against background checks.

You're a murdered LaPierre and one day you'll have to answer for your crimes and so will those Senators. I know that this weeks vote wouldn't have helped in this case, but it would for future cases and I'm sure there will be more. Now, stay up all night making copies of those pictures and forwarding them to the 46 Senators that you got to vote against background checks.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

We'd all like to believe they could have been stopped, but there's the tragic possibility that no law on the table could have stopped them.

  •  Good points, nut Officer Collier was not an SO (0+ / 0-)

he was a police officer. he had authority to enforce law and make arrests, security officers do not.

"You're a murderer LaPierre".  Cuz he is.  Or at least, an overachieving enabler of murderers, which ain't a fuck of a lot better in my eyes.

...LaPierre doesn't care. This brand of conservatism can be boiled to this, they do not fucking care.
      --crash the economy, don't care
      --massive unemployment, don't care
--willfully obstruct helping America recover, don't
--borrow trillions to fund 2 wars, don't care
--tax cuts for the wealthy, oh, now they care about that!

Plain and simple the GOP does not give a flying-fuck about Americans and there needs. They care only about the parasitical wealthy class and have done everything possible so far to take from the poor to benefit the rich.

Only the weak & defeated are called to account for their crimes.
