That's pretty much it in a nutshell.

If you already have the funds to pay hundreds for a plane ticket, Congress will grab its nuts and it's bootstraps and levitate its way into removing a the minor inconvenience of having to wait an extra 90 minutes or so.  It's not like people already had to plan their trips days and hours in advance just to get through Security, which by the way, remains cut under the Sequester.

The messages is loud and clear that America cares if you have to spend a little extra time at the Sports Bar or Mini-Mall inside your local Airport, but if you need FOOD or MEDICINE or SHELTER that you otherwise can't pay for -- FUCK YOU!

The House Voted for this Turd Burger 341-41

Yeah, that pretty much says it.

I swear to GOD, Jehova, Vishna, Chrishnu and BELZEBUB that someone needs to tell John Beohner, Paul Ryan and RANDIAN Paul that the Fracking Hunger Games is not an instruction manual on governing.

And tell Lindsay Graham that "24" is not a "How to" for Counter-Terrorism while you're at it.

This is not a game.

It's not like they would listen, but I'd like to be a fly on the wall when it happens.

It's just all so insane.

The other night I was watching BBC World News and they were literally happy about the "Good" news that the British Economy had a recent uptick to a dazzling 0.5% Growth.

That's Good News in Austerity-vile. Why is that good News?  Because the overall growth for all of Europe is currently projected at 0.3%, that's why.

Paul Ryan and the Austerians favorite study just got Kicked In It's Shriveled Nuts by a Grad Student who knew how to use MICROSOFT EXCEL properly.

Seriously, professional people still use fracking EXCEL?

What the hell have I been doing with SQL/Oracle for the last ten years? My Nails?

As Jack (the Fascist Frack-Head War Criminal Torturer Bastard) Bauer would say - "Damnit!"

The 2010 report [PDF] cited by pro-austerity legislators like Paul Ryan, nicknamed the Reinhart-Rogoff report after its authors Carmen Reinhart and Kenneth Rogoff, allegedly finds that a nation’s economy tends to shrink once its debt burden exceeds 90% of its GDP.  As of late 2012, the United States’ national debt was over 100% of its GDP.

However, when UM-Amherst’s Thomas Herndon, Michael Ash and Robert Pollin attempted to replicate Reinhart and Rogoff’s findings, they say they found “coding errors, selective exclusion of available data, and unconventional weighting of summary statistics,” all leading to “serious errors.”

If Herndon, Ash and Pollin are correct, then the empirical case for privileging short-term debt reduction over economic stimulus may be far weaker than Washington policymakers have suggested. The overwhelming consensus in Washington holds that America’s national debt is a problem which must be addressed immediately. President Obama and congressional Republicans appear to disagree regarding the correct path to that goal—but not regarding its urgency. Reinhart-Rogoff has been heavily cited by everyone from Ryan, to North Dakota’s former Democratic Sen. Kent Conrad as evidence of the urgency of debt reduction.

GEEBUS Christmas.

It's enough to make you spit.

This is what these fracker are dragging us kicking and screaming into.

That haves get more, and the have nots get a shit sandwich.

Just check this clip from Chris Hayes yesterday.

Congressman: I Hope you have some answer for us today. Why didn't you tell us about this (FAA Delays) before hand?

FAA Spokesman: We told you about a significant reduction in available controller hours, for months.

Congs: But you didn't tell us which facilities, which airports?

FAA: We told you they should expect significant impacts at major hub facilities.

Congs: Well La Tee Da, everyone knew that - that's what Sequestration is all about.

Chris: As much as waiting at the airport sucks, here's who will not get relief based on the bill that passed today in Congress - thousands of CANCER PATIENTS ON MEDICARE who are being turned away by clinics where they were being treated with expensive chemo-therapy drugs, the roughly 70,000 expected to lose eligibility for head start, the 1,000 Scientific Researchers who won't get National Science Foundation Grants (like the ones that fostered Google and the Fracking INTERNET I'm speaking to you with), the older Americans who stand to get Millions Fewer Meals Delivered from the Meals on Wheels program, the low income families that are getting Bumped from Section 8 Housing assistance, Anyone who Eats Anything Anywhere In This Country as the Sequester stands to cost us 2,100 Food Inspectors.
Yeah, cuz, who needs like Cancer Medicine and Safe, Edible Food and exorbitant, selfish shit like that? Pffft!

And all we get from Congress is big fat yawn with a middle-finger hidden behind it pointing at the other party.

Hack-- Ptui!!

And people wonder why I'm in a bad mood all the time... It's a consequence of paying attention.

Add keywords that describe this diary. Separate multiple keywords with commas.
Tagging tips - Search For Tags - Browse For Tags

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

You can add a private note to this diary when hotlisting it:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary from your hotlist?
Are you sure you want to remove your recommendation? You can only recommend a diary once, so you will not be able to re-recommend it afterwards.
Rescue this diary, and add a note:

Choose where to republish this diary. The diary will be added to the queue for that group. Publish it from the queue to make it appear.

You must be a member of a group to use this feature.

Add a quick update to your diary without changing the diary itself:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary?
(The diary will be removed from the site and returned to your drafts for further editing.)
(The diary will be removed.)
Are you sure you want to save these changes to the published diary?
