This survey from Fairleigh Dickinson University (
PDF) came out
last week, but it's a keeper:
I was ready to get embarrassed by that 29 percent figure for the country—heck, even 18 percent for Democrats is bad—but 44 percent of Republicans seriously think we may be on the cusp of an armed revolution? Just 31 percent disagree? Holy hell, Glenn Beck clearly knows his target market better than even the clowns at Fox News know theirs.
You know what I'd like to see as a follow up to this poll? I'd like to see people name exactly what liberties they think are at risk, and what liberties they think they've already lost. And if, as I suspect, the liberty they are most afraid of losing is the right to bear arms, I've got some good news for them: Republicans in the Senate couldn't even agree to expand background checks to include gun shows and internet sales. So the liberty of of criminals to buy guns without any sort of background check isn't going away anytime soon.
