Just keep digging, Gun Freaks....

Connecticut Carry released a “rap sheet” of Neil Heslin, listing his multiple arrests for driving under the influence and conviction for felony narcotics possession. The group also published a document entitled “Neil Heslin’s Troubled Past,” which included lawsuits related to foreclosure, collection efforts, and child support.

“So often we find that the strongest critics of the right to bear arms are those people who cannot be trusted with firearms themselves,” the nonprofit group wrote it its statement. “A felon within arm’s reach of the president of the administration so dead set on background checks. No better testimony to how ineffective background checks are needs to be presented.”

These are not the actions of 'responsible gun owners'.

"Responsible gun owners' are most likely - or should be, I dare say - appalled at this sort of gutter-level 'dirty tricks' swiftboating of a person whose son was actually killed - horribly - by a gun at the most horrible mass shooting we have had to date.

A techinique used by Karl Rove and the GOP at large when dealing with somebody's strength is to turn that strength on its head and try to make it into a weakness.

The "weakness' of this father is his Moral Righteousness in speaking out on the topic of guns and losing family to them. Who can talk with the righteousness of someone who has experienced what this man has?

Very few so the thing that gun freaks - my term designating those foamy-mouthed dingbats who can't wipe their ass without a gun - is to assault the man's credibility and righteousness.

Oh, he has legal charges.

Oh...druuuuuuuuuugs..... The problem with drug-war propaganda-spreading media lapdogs like we suffer in this country, they always use law enforcement propaganda terms to talk about 'druuuuuuugs' in the news but Law Enforcement likes to replace the exact 'druuuuuug' with the term "illegal narcotics' so you think the crime has been terrible when, in fact, law enforcement does this to HIDE THE FACT that most druuuuuug arrest are for mara-ju-wanna not real drugs or real crime. Unsure what 'horrible narcotic conviction' these dumbfucks are talking about but I'll just imagine, for now, it wasn't meth.

The Dumbfucks then go on to claim that Mr Heslin is somehow 'profiting' from his gun control presentations, something that has yet to be actually documented.

When the people of America really do crush the gun freak lobby it will be because the gun freak lobby has supported rampant death and destruction through its bullshit whining about 'liberty' and other shit they couldn't understand with a gun to their heads.

If all you have is to smear a father who lost a son to YOUR FUCKING BULLSHIT, then you are an evil stupid motherfucker and YOU should have YOUR gun ownership questioned.

Go fuck yourselves, Connecticut Carry.

Note: I support serious gun regulation that is focused on increased safety and sense. I don't support a ban but I think people need to follow a lot more safety rules. I don;t currently own a firearm largely because I dont hold the idea they are essential for self or home protection. I reject the gun myths. Just so folks know where I am coming from.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
