This quote from a witness to the New Orleans shootings as reported in the Times-Picayne:
"Another woman, Erica Garner, whose nephew and sister had been shot, said the shooting exemplified how the city's violence is out of control.
"This ain't nowhere to live," she said. "This place a hellhole."
While she clearly was speaking of New Orleans, she just as well could have been speaking about any number of places in this United States of Firearms.
And exactly what the hell difference does it make that this particular even occurred in New Orleans? None, zero, zilch! The US of F has become a hellhole of violence and guns. It doesn't matter who did this, what kind of weapons they used, what race, creed or color the perps were, how they obtained the weapon, or even why they did it. None of that matters.
What matters is that this shit happens way too often in this country, and that, folks is the truth of the quote above. America has become a hellhole and the reasons are too many to list. Beyond all the psychoblather, political bluster, cant, and pedantry on the subject of gun control, one indelible fact remains; for a supposedly 'civilized' country, we are in fact a hellhole of hatred, greed, delusion and death.
When you can't even attend a Mother's Day parade with family or friends without fear of being shot because, god knows, the 2nd amendment, then change the constitution. If keeping the 2nd amendment means we all must live in fear of loonies with guns, then to hell with the 2nd amendment. If it means that I have to carry a gun to feel safe, then to hell with the 2nd amendment, and to hell with any system of government that can't protect its citizens by making its laws on firearms reasonable and enforceable.
I'm tired of chickenshit politicians and well-funded demagogues. I'm tired of living in a hellhole.
