In the port.. Came across this dedication, and work, on the life and memory of Young Mr. Malcolm Shabazz.  - a father, grand son of The iconic Malcolm Shabazz, popularly know as Malcolm X.  His recent sad passing, in Mexico under most dubious and trite circumstances, has shocked and saddened people, here and all over the world. Let us be real. There is no excuse for this. What just happened, what is the deeper meaning, the cost.  Condolences to the family.  Let's use creativity, to build on his life's work and causes.
He was born into a huge history. One that steadily resonates, around the world and has even broken through domestically as a strength in governance, business and civic faith. -  A legacy that at heights is incalculable and still growing. The activist record, religious life, the movie, by Spike Lee, and the modern 'movements' of new appreciation. The work at Medgar Evers College by Dr. Betty Shabazz, Mrs. Malcom X. The new South Africa and economic promise of the continent...  The list goes on. let us add to it. As did Young Malcolm.
'By any means nessarry'? Has moved past the physical force and defiance with which it was once associated. And now? has anchored a productive mind set, created fortunes, won elections and built new industries. In Brixton, England '91 The Arts Festival. Malcolm X was revived a global totem, of progress and its movements.  Even Clarence Thomas? Invoked this young man's Grandfathers good name to slip to the court. And then not saying a word, while voting...  He owes, in this young man's memory, alone, to speak up or step down. This too must have also weighed  on young Malcolm's life and conscious, given his concerns on the issue of crime punishment and rehabilitation. - Small thinking and its waste of human capital in our systems comparatively.
He was speaking, moving about. Hey. The world has suffered a great loss.

This video captures a piece of him. Let us all reflect and be strengthened by what he shares.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
