Another in an ongoing and apparently infinite series titled "
Republican state lawmakers make me sad":
When asked what he would consider his “biggest mystery,” [Nebraska State Sen. Bill Kinter] replied: “Women. No one understands them. They don’t even understand themselves. Books and books and books have been written about it, and no one understands it.” […]
Likening his relationship with “the woman” to a political separation of powers, Kintner went on to say: “In our household, we have a separation of powers. The legislative is downstairs and the executive is upstairs. We don’t talk about what she does on her side and what I do on my side. There’s no sharing of inside information.”
"Ha ha, females are incomprehensible, am I right? And what is the deal with airline food? Airline food is like bipartisanship within the legislative branch, in that it mostly does not exist anymore and young people will look at you funny when you try to explain what it was. Also, I haven't spoken to my wife in 10 years. Please help me."
It will probably not surprise you to know that Kinter is staunchly "pro-life" and has very definite ideas of how women work, even while proudly asserting that he doesn't understand how they work. The ol' separation of powers thing also does not apply, as he is very happy to enforce what "she" does on "her" side when it comes to what she is or isn't allowed to do in regards to her own medical care. Separation of powers, sure—as long as the godbothering conservative white guy is in charge.
No, they don't listen to themselves. Why would they?
