I first ran across Jay Sekulow's name in the late 1980s because of his ties to Operation Rescue-type groups. In 1990, he and Pat Robertson started the ACLJ, American Center for Law and Justice, a name chosen specifically to mimic the ACLU. He's also been said to have been a prime mover in getting John Roberts on the Supreme Court.
