Wednesday!
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care.
Our diaries are now produced a new group of regularly-scheduled writers:
Monday: BadKitties
Tuesday: jan4insight
Wednesday: Caedy
Thursday: weck
Friday: FloridaSNMOM
Saturday:broths
Sunday: loggersbrat
We also welcome submissions from anyone who would like to jump in, whether as a fill-in for someone else, or just because you feel like writing. Please mention it in the thread, or Kosmail FloridaSNMOM. Anyone scheduled who would like someone to fill in for you, please do the same.
If you'd like to be part of the Itzl Alert Network, please leave a comment asking to join, or send us a message asking to join. We'd love to have you. The bigger our network, the less likely someone will be stranded all alone.
Okay, so any cravings for chocolate inspired by this diary can be solely blamed on
THIS DIARY from May 18th, by broths. It is all broths' fault. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
So, FloridaSNMom's birthday was on Monday, and for her birthday she wanted the Chocolate Cupcake Surprise that had been shared on broths' first diary...now...here are the pictures, and we made some alterations to the recipe due to the fact that I had no cocoa, nor was there extra in the budget for cocoa.
Cupcakes going into the oven...yummy, first time baking anything with vinegar in it. Wasn't used to the batter being so liquidy...
Mmm...baking done. These cooked about 30 minutes, so only a few minutes longer than the required time for the mini cupcakes.
She decided she wanted to add a bit more to the cupcakes, so I added cream cheese frosting, just to add to the cream cheese already in the filling.
They were quite tasty.
The alterations we made to the mix were:
1/2 cup of Nesquik mix
3/4 cup of sugar
They turned out FANTASTIC!
