Since the NSA and the broader leak investigations have blown up around the administration, no one has captured my feelings on this issue more than Joe Scarborough. He points out the hypocrisy of the administration, the complete secrecy, the dishonesty in wanting a debate while surpressing it, and the habit of the DOJ pushing the boundaries beyond things done before. But then as I'm nodding my head in a approval, I remember that this was the guy who defended Bush's torture program throughout its existence, and has cynically tried to make the case that its better than drones. Who can forget the shouting match he had with David Shuster in 2008 about Obama's naiveté and simple-mindedness on these issues, the same president he now says is a Biush clone. Who can forget his cheerleading of the Iraq war, and his sudden convergence to being anti-war in say 2009-2010. All coincidence, of course.
My point is this guy is a partisan hack, and I don't like it when I agree with partisan hacks, cause I know its just a game to them. They don't really believe in anything, they're just trying to attack their political enemies. You know what, I actually have more respect for the republicans who are being consistent, like Mccain, than those who are completely opportunistic. Those people care so little about those issues that they're willing to flip in a moments notice. Btw, this applies to any so-called liberal who defends Obama on these issues. Don't wanna hear it.
