The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award winner Mavis Staples is about to release her second collaboration with Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy, an album called One True Vine. The album finds Staples delving deep into her rich history like on the track, “I Like The Things About Me,” a song she used to perform with the Staple Singers and was written by Roebuck “Pops” Staples and Martha Stubbs. Like on her last album, You Are Not Alone, the record is produced by Tweedy, who along with his son Spencer, played nearly every instrument on the album.
