Walkers apparently acting like he didn't know this was going down, using GOP double speak: “Governor Walker hopes the Legislature will fix the issue, but will review the budget in its entirety when it gets to his desk.” in his pretend rage. Nothing that's happened since they took over has been done without Walker knowing and been in on, Nothing!!

Wisconsin veterans groups object to limit on property tax credit

June 12, 2013 - Wisconsin veterans groups are sharply criticizing a move by lawmakers to curtail and strip disabled veterans of property tax credit benefits.

The state provides a refundable income tax credit for the property taxes paid on principal dwellings by veterans who are 100% disabled and their surviving spouses. Spouses of veterans killed in Iraq and Afghanistan also receive the credit if they don't remarry.

Last week the Joint Finance Committee voted to limit the amount of property taxes to be reimbursed to $2,500 a year. The committee also created a means test phase-out, so that if the income of 100% disabled veterans exceeds a certain amount, they will be dropped from the property tax credit program. This also would apply to their surviving spouses and spouses of Wisconsin service members killed in action.

Disabled American Veterans state legislative director Al Labelle called the committee's action appalling.Proposal was approved by Wisconsin Legislature's budgeting committee read more>>>

Showing more of the so called 'support' of those the country demands to serve in the war theaters supported by the flag waver patriots. While the, Abandoned very quickly, Afghan theater, with cheers from the majority of the country, continues winding down as those still sent seek to accomplish at least some of those abandoned missions of why they were sent into that region after 9/11!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
