Tuesday, in Concord, New Hampshire, a No More Names gun safety rally was held in front of the State Building. One of the speakers was John Cantin, who is a survivor of gun violence after he tried to save his daughter, who was murdered in gun violence by her estranged husband. The goal for the rally was to deliver the 6,000 names of people who have been killed by gun violence since the Newton mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary last December. Cantin and the No More Names supporters were there to direct their message and appeal to Senator Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) who voted against the gun safety bill in April.

A husky man named Daniel Musso, 52, came up to where Cantin was speaking, and proceeded to bully, interrupt, and intimidate Cantin with words and, what appeared to be, a beckoning of violence. At one point, Musso went to grab the sun glasses off Catlin's head.

The police eventually came and Musso quickly disappear into the crowd. The No More Name picketers began to gather around the Cantin, as if to protect him, while he finished his speech. Meanwhile the police caught up with Musso and questioned him. Musso put his hand on one of the office's shoulder and was told to take it off. When he ignored the officer, he was placed under arrest. When the police tried to cuff him, Musso continued to resist, pulled one arm loose, raised it in the air, and was Tasered. The crowd was wild as they taunted the officers and egged Musso on. It was an almost vicious display of 'mob' mentality.

I have to commend Cantin for keeping his cool. Obnoxious rednecks like the Musso bring out a strange anger in me. Musso represents the the bullies of this world that try to silence and control others with threatening tone and action. In this case, the bully lost.

Musso was charged with disorderly conduct and two counts of simple assault. This story will be twisted by the NRA and media to look as though Musso's rights were taken away, when in fact, he was infringing upon the rights of another man to freely speak under The First Amendment.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
