News from the Plains: All this RED can make you BLUE
Your Friday Nooner
by Barry Friedman
Is it Noonan or Is it Not?
"I am saddened by the stonewalling. Saddened. It hurts me, deep into my soul, a soul which, thanks to Ronal--I'm sorry, I still can't say his name without weeping --was instilled with, ah, soulfulness. What hurts me about this scandal, what makes my body ache is that this IRS scandal involves mendacity, not money. And the former stings worse. Ouch! Ouch! And how dare THEY? Who are THESE people who asked for records, these field officers, anyway? What do we know of them? Mr. Cummings--how best to say this, a man like Obama, a black man, a man of oration--says done, fini, he has his answers. But what of MY answers, what of the COUNTRY'S, what of Ron--I'm sorry, I just can't--his answers? No, it is not done, Monsieur. Did the White House pick up a phone to tell IRS workers in Cincinnati, its thugs, as you would a big black dog, ATTACK! It didn't have to. That poison is blowing in the wind. It comes from THIS White House and blows, blows, blows. But the answer is not. It is the wind we fear. Mendacity wafting. I weep for those in the wind's path, I weep for us, I weep for me. I must get out of the wind."--P. Noonan
