Lots of electrons beamed around here advocating Texas Sen. Wendy Davis (D!) for the TX Governor position. That's a major strategic error IMHO (sorry Markos and the rest of y'all).
That position barely rises above figurehead status, has limited power (does come with a neat rented mansion, air force & navy, and chingos of DPS bodyguards); and it would be a very expensive race (most of y'all have no effen idea how big Texa$ i$).
It's biking up an extremely steep hill with low tires, in what will be a very hot climate (the RWingnuts are revving it up like you wouldn't believe now), against the lyingest, lowdownest snakes imaginable. A victory is quite unlikely there (says the observant cynic in me).
In short, the wrong race, wrong issue, wrong battle.
Instead, lets go for all the marbles.
(read on below the orange opticon of optimism:)
((WTF is an opticon?))
This is the right race, long game 2016:
Ensure Wendy gets re-elected to the Texas Senate next year (or a safe US House seat?), and then prep her, advance her, to run for the race for US President in 2016.
She has everything we need in way of talent, intelligence, ability, charisma, stamina, and practical political experience, plus she's already got the running shoes (assuming no skeletons).
Lacking national heft and organization? Answer: One G. W. Bush, former TX Guv, 'nuff said.
Her portfolio goes far beyond that of the single issue in which she has now come to prominence with. She's dealt with Texas local and state affairs deftly and is still standing, that's good enough for me.
Hillary Clinton is a spent force, and I don't see anyone else out there who could win in 2016. I'd vote for Secy. Clinton if the Reptiles ran JFC hisself (but he sure ain't talkin' to them), many others won't out of apathy or animosity, she's been damaged too much.
Others mentioned, like Sen. Warren, don't have the same kickass image (no matter how many other excellent qualities she has, and they are already gunning for her; Wendy has unbalanced them)
We need a fresh face and outlook, a new and changed future course.
How many of y'all really want a future Preznit Rubio, Cruz, Huckleberry, Paul, Perry, or even ol' megabucks returning-- rMoney; and then winning all the marbles? Scared shitless yet?
We need somebody electrifying to reinvigorate the Democratic Party. She's surely done it for Texas Democrats and many in other states.
Who better than TX Sen. Wendy Davis for President in 2016?
Show me anyone better suited?
(I have no connection to Sen. Davis, the Democratic Party (other than voting), and have seen that she was on the Sunday morning teevee political shows which I missed, dang it; mostly stopped watching them years ago because I just couldn't take the Bush era piddly puppy luv)
